Is there a team that is better placed than the Oklahoma City Thunder to be a perpetual contender over the next decade? I think not.
The combination of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook is one of the best tandems in the league today.
Last year, they managed to take the eventual champion Los Angeles Lakers to six games before losing the series. This year, they are up 2-0 on the Denver Nuggets. They are firing on all cylinders.
Last night in a win against the Nuggets, they had five players score in double figures, and they received 37 points from their bench. Despite shooting only 43.9%, the Thunder were able to pull off 17-point win. They are in complete control of the series at this point, and will look to make a deep run in the playoffs.
If the Thunder continue to keep their core group of young players together, they could be the team of the decade.
